Weekend times and our weekly menu

Our family had a busy weekend.  There are some weekends that the days last and last, and then other weekends I am climbing into bed when it seems I just rolled out.  The latter was our weekend.  It was all good though.  I am thankful for all of the memories we made over the past two days.  :-)

On Saturday Emily's school hosted a volleyball tournament.  The tournament was for the 7th grade B teams.  Emily is on the A team, but we wouldn't pass up the chance to cheer the girls on.  We were there from 8am until 3:30 pm.  I so enjoyed watching my girl hang out with her team and bond.  They giggled, ate, watched their friends play, giggled, and ate some more.  I had a great time getting to know the mamas even better.  We worked the concessions stand, made sure the hospitality room had enough food for everyone who used it, and laughed a lot.  Her team is made up of some really great mamas!  We are so blessed to be surrounded by such great people.  And, have I mentioned how great the coaches are?  They are a wonderful group of women who love the sport, but love the girls even more.

Emily came home from the tournament wiped out.  (Waking up early on a Saturday morning isn't her normal routine.  She is quite the sleeper!)  Therefore, she was stuck doing all of her homework after church today.  Here is a picture of her sitting at the table tackling all she had to do.  Doesn't she look like she is having the time of her life?

Thankfully, Jorden was able to hang out with us yesterday.  He actually worked the whole time because he needs hours for National Honor Society and Chemisty Honor Society.  He had to go to work this afternoon.  :-(  I like when we are all home on Sunday afternoon.  I guess this is just prepping me for when he is away at college.  Isn't there a magic potion I can give him so he will stay young?  My heart experiences growing pains when I think of him leaving home one day.  However, I couldn't be more proud of him.  While it will be hard to watch him go, I am excited for him to spread his wings and fly.  I know he will do great.  He is such a fabulous kid.

Luke played in the rain today and had a blast.  He threw the football and pretended to be in the middle of a tight game.  Cute!  I love that he still pretends and gets into it. :-)

I took this picture on my way to take Luke to school the other morning.  To me, it looks like hands creating a heart.  I think God shows us His love in many ways.  I took this as my morning, "I love you" from my Daddy.

Here are various pictures I took this weekend.  Enjoy!!

Have a wonderful week!  May you find God's blessings all around you this week.
