About Me

I am married to a very patient, wonderful guy named Barry.  We have three great kids.  Jorden is 18, Emily is 14, and Luke is 11.  Jorden is a freshman in college, Emily is a freshman in high school, and Luke is a freshman in junior high.  We truly enjoy each other's company.  Good times for us include playing in our pool, playing volleyball or basketball on our driveway, watching a good movie with popcorn (a must!), family vacations, and good food.

I enjoy true relationships and lunch with friends.  I also enjoy reading, writing, running, laundry (I know!!!....weird!), vacations, and my family.  I usually have a smile on my face-unless it's "one of those days".  :-)

I am a Jesus lovin' girl who strives to please Him.  I love going to church and worshipping with my family.  Jesus is not a Sunday fellow, He is an everyday kind of guy.  As a family, we try and live for Him daily.  I am not a stick to church rules gal.  The rules I follow come from Jesus....love the way He does....plain and simple.

Oh, and by the way....I turned 42 last February and I'm loving every bit of it!!

I believe in the awesome power of prayer and true friendship.  If you need prayer or someone to chat with, my email address is lifewithjoys@gmail.com

I believe that the more we are others/Jesus centered, the happier we are.  I have created a list of things to do each month to focus our hearts away from ourselves.  These can be done each day or occasionally.  Have fun with them and happy sharing!

January...Find a new blog to visit and leave a positive comment.

February...Hand out love gifts to teachers, friends, baristas, or whomever you'd like.

March...Bake cookies for a neighbor or friend.

April...Send an unexpected email to someone telling them thank you for being who they are.

May...Compliment those around you.

June...Send a favorite book to a friend.

July...Leave notes under your spouse and kids' pillows.

August...Send random text messages encouraging friends to have blessed days.

September...Pay for someone's meal or coffee.

October...Bake pumpkin bread (or whatever fall type bread) for a friend or neighbor.

November...Send a card telling someone why you are thankful for him/her.

December...Send a handwritten Christmas card.  This is different than the custom style cards that make their way to our mailboxes

  7. The 40's is a great decade! I just started my 50's and realized it's still so young!! I just sent you an email regarding the picture on your blog: http://lifewithjoys.blogspot.com/2012/10/31-days-of-loveday-24-you-are-beautiful.html. I don't know if it got to you, because I used an email address I don't usually use, jan@admiralbeauty.com. I think it's set up for replies to come to another email address. So, please let me know if you get it. I'm wondering what the legalities would be for me to use it on our business' FB page as a profile picture on occasion. God bless you!!
