Welcome to life with joys reading intervention! My name is Marci Smith and I have a passion for teaching children to read successfully and with joy. I believe that all children can become triumphant readers. Children need to be taught a variety of strategies and phonics rules to be able to read with fluency, comprehension, and joy. I have had great success teaching children and would love to partner with you in helping your child.
I am certified in the following areas:
Classroom teacher - early childhood - 4th grade
Special Education - early childhood - 12th grade
English as a Second Language - early childhood - 12th grade
I am also certified in the Science of Reading through the Texas Education Agency.
I have taught Pre-K, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade.
I have been married for almost 30 years. My husband and I have 3 wonderful children who fill our hearts with such love! Their ages are 28, 24, and 21. It has been so delightful watching them grow into kind and generous adults.
I am an avid dog lover! We have 2 precious dogs that happen to be the cutest dogs ever (I'm not biased at all!).
