Blogger for Christmas ~ week 2

Bloggers for Christmas

I really love Christmas time.  I love the traditions and the warm, fuzzy feeling I get while shopping for my family and friends.  The excitement that my children get is so precious.  Yes, they enjoy getting gifts, but they also know the reason we celebrate.  It makes me happy to know that Jesus is dear to their hearts.

This time of year causes me to reflect back on my relationship with Jesus.  How has it grown, changed, and hopefully strengthened over the past 12 months?  I am reminded of times He brought me pure laughter and times He picked me up off of the floor when I thought I would always be there.  May we remember to celebrate HIM this season.

Over the past couple of years I have discovered how much I like nutcrackers.  I have started a collection and each one gives me a special memory.
I bought this one yesterday.  I couldn't resist the pink and green beads and the bling sword he is holding.  My daughter was so thrilled when she noticed him after school.  Gotta have a bling nutcracker, right?!

Do you have any special collections?

Have a great weekend and happy Christmas...ing!!Photobucket

  4. Awww, I love your nutcracker collection...especially the bling! I do the traditional collection of yearly ornaments like my parents always did. I haven't really gotten into any other collecting though. I do love the sentimental value of those ornaments though as I remember our past Christmas memories. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  6. I think I am a collector of all things Christmas! I have more sets of Christmas dishes than I do everyday dishes. And, it's always sad for me when I take down the Christmas decorations, because my house looks so empty. I buy a new Christmas decoration or ornament every year with the money my grandmother sends me. She is my only living grandparent, and lives out of state. I love knowing that even though I am not able to see her, there is a bit of her in my house every Christmas.

  8. :) I have a few nutcrackers, a handful of other little Christmas knick-knacks... but I think our Christmas collections are more ornament collections. I collect kitten ornaments (it's true... a little sad, but true)... sadder still, my hubby has filled our tree with Star Trek and Disney ornaments... Star Trek. I have Cap't Picard, Worf, and a Borg Cube on my tree. {shaking my head} :) I also love the Reason for the Season. (or as the ridiculous sparkly pin my friend just bought me says "I <3 Jesus!" ~AJ

  12. Ahhh I LOVE the blingy nutcracker! We actually collect nutcrackers. They started collecting them when I was little so we have a ton of them! Collecting stuff is so much fun, because you're right...each one holds a special memory, just like we collect ornaments from vacations. It's so cool decorating the tree because we can reflect on all the many blessings God has given us!

  13. I love nutcrackers, but only have one unfortunately. But it's a beauty - a family heirloom. Latest blogpost: http://ambradambra.wordpress.com/2012/12/11/lurking-in-the-cupboard-nutcracker-the-utensil-not-the-ballet-2/
